Tata Punch.ev gets bigger battery packs, better range, and lower price!

The Tata Punch EV facelift has been launched at a starting price of Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the first major update to the Punch EV since its market debut.

Along with the exterior design and added features seen in the recently launched Petrol Punch facelift, the electric version now includes larger battery packs, resulting in increased power and range. Surprisingly, despite these upgrades, the prices have dropped: previously ranging from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 14.44 lakh, the new model is now priced between Rs 9.69 lakh and Rs 12.59 lakh.

This means the base variant is now Rs 30,000 cheaper, while the top-spec variant with the larger battery has seen a price reduction of Rs 1.85 lakh.

Battery Pack and Performance

The Punch EV facelift offers two new battery options—30kWh and 40kWh—replacing the previous 25kWh and 35kWh packs.

* Range & Power:

   * 40kWh Battery: Delivers an ARAI-certified range of 468 km (expected real-world range: ~355 km). It produces 129hp and 154Nm of torque.

   * 30kWh Battery: Offers a claimed range of 365 km (expected real-world range: ~275 km). It produces 88hp and 154Nm of torque.

* Warranty: Tata is offering a lifetime, unlimited-kilometer warranty for the larger battery pack, while the smaller pack comes with an 8-year warranty.

* Drive Modes: Features three modes—City, Eco, and Sport—along with four levels of regenerative braking adjustable via paddle shifters.

* Charging: Using a 65kW DC fast charger, the battery can go from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. A quick 15-minute charge can provide enough power for a 135 km trip.
